Yes! I've discovered the fighting aspect on the Tuulech farm to be most advantageous to my likes/dislikes & general playstyle. Not sure how much of that would actually factor in which is why I'm also asking - if the intent/project is to somewhat speed level the eras and you're still able to fight through level 3 of the expedition/not worried about negotiating L4, is there really any reason to wait for GE? GBG? Thanks again!!

This is not the case for my city - it's not as hearty at the military strength as I'd normally consider since I do intend to convert it to a farm someday but have fairly well leveled Zues/CdM - somewhere in the mid-40's, I believe). (Note: I think I remember that some of the cautionary tales were for the new(er) players with less-developed cities and lower level GBs so they might not actually be able to fight current era units. Did I make a mistake? Would welcome any thoughts, advice, insight on the issue(s). This time - I advanced today - after GE started but before the new season begins, hoping to earn current era units with the very few fights I do in my 'off-world' cities.

Have I gone too far on my cMap and that's why I'm having a hard time? Or is that just inherent in the "game plan" to take time to advance a bit more slowly through the tech tree to earn the units as you go? I just plain don't remember it being this hard before but then again - there was no battlegrounds when I was doing this before!! I'm facing a storyline quest asking me to delete 8 current era units and a side quest asking me to earn X units of a certain type. In my main city where I do most of my fighting, I've been camped in FE the whole time (3 1/2 years? Yikes!) but as I'm beginning to experiment w/moving up eras in two new adventures in trying to create WW farms and just mucking around with an older/somewhat retired city, I'm discovering that the time I'm spending advancing is seriously hindered by the lack of current era units.Ĭase in point: I just spent about 3 months "sort of" power leveling a city from Indy to PME. provided you plan ahead and have enough of your new era's goods on hand but the side/storyline quests that require some task involving units has always stymied me a bit on that theory and has only gotten even more confusing to me with battlegrounds. I've always understood the merit of waiting for the expedition to start to level up to a new era based on fighting units of a lower era.
